cant see panel

Post by Preddie »

Hi everyone.. how do I see the main panel? I have it selected in the view.. instrument panel... main panel but it doesn't show up in any of the views.. just the blown up parts of the panel such as radio stack and light switches, but cant see the whole panel at one time. Any help will be appreciated

Hi and welcome to the forum,
just the blown up parts of the panel such as radio stack and light switches, but cant see the whole panel at one time.
If you have FSX, make sure you have it updated with SP2 (service pack 2) and have Advanced animations turned on.
Don't forget to install the latest updater, found here:

You need to use the virtual cockpit, as there is no 2D panel.

Well you could try giving us more information.

If F9 isn't working then it's the system, the sim, or the manual interface unit at fault.

But we can tell none of those things unless you become more verbose.

Some clues you might want to offer:
System Specs
Sim Specs (FSX, FSX-SE, FSX with SP1 and SP2, Acceleration, P3d and version)
Other addons installed

You can use the standard FSX view controls to manage your viewpoint.

Ah, now we understand, it's the manual interface unit that's `failed`.

As Oracle says, use the standard FSX view controls - you can look those up in the sim. Most of us will use the hat switch on the yoke or stick to move the view, but you can also use the mouse to move and zoom.
As an option, you can also set wide view as an option - again a quick search on the web will give you all the information you need.
As a further option, you can even set a customised view that allows a view of the panel - again the net has details
Finally, you can use a head-tracking device to slave your head to move the view. TrackIR as a search term will Google you full details on that.

These are not issues with the aircraft, these are issues with your knowledge of the simulator. You would be strongly advised to make use of the sims own Learning Center prior to trying to integrate the A2A aircraft.
Full knowledge of the simulator functionality is really a prerequisite to making best use of the A2A aircraft.

Hope the learning goes well, because the leaning is next!

Are you using any view controls? Or are you zoomed in too much? You have complete control in the virtual cockpit allowing you to look wherever you need too. It does sound however that you're not in the default VC view which is facing forwards with the top of the panel in view just like you would as if sat in the actual cockpit.

Actually it sounds more like he's not set
WideViewAspect=True
in the FSX. cfg and as a result is only seeing the very top of the coaming. Not sure that is covered in the A2A manual for the aircraft?

If he zooms out the view or pans the view down, things should come into view. Or as you say he can restore the default zoom. To do so requires knowledge of the view controls of the sim, best learned from within the sim.
