Updater problems
Updater problems
I had to do a new install and when I run the updater it only try to update FSX and I hve only P3D installed on my computer.
Re: Updater problems
Rest of system specs would be useful. Did you previously have FSX installed? Is this the P3D version of the C172 you are seeking to update or are you trying to get the FSX version to work?Jadames11 wrote:I had to do a new install and when I run the updater it only try to update FSX and I hve only P3D installed on my computer.

Re: Updater problems
Hello Jadames11,
welcome to the forums. Can you give us some further information about your setup, and the circumstances. For example on the reinstall was it a full clean install of did you just run the uninstaller and then reinstall without deleting left over files etc. As Mallcott has mentioned which A2A product are you working with?
thanks,
Lewis

Re: Updater problems
No I didn't have fsx installed, I only have P3Dinstalled. it is the c172 p3d version I want to update. It is a full clean install windows reinstall and everything else. I just installed the c172 everything went well with the aircraft installation and when I started the update install it says that fsx was not found, to point the installer to the correct folder (or something along these lines)

Re: Updater problems
Hello,
how did you install P3D, it looks like the updater cannot find the correct reg key in your system so isn't presenting you the P3D option.
thanks,
Lewis

Reg Key can be easily renistalled with a Client uninstall/reinstall, unless you've got something peculiar going on in your rig...Lewis - A2A wrote:Hello,

Re: Updater problems
I did a default P3D Install didnt change anything on the installer
Re: Updater problems
Why did you do that? You only need to uninstall and reinstall the P3D Client to reinstate the registry entry.Jadames11 wrote:I did a default P3D Install didnt change anything on the installer
Given what you say, however, it is apparent that you DO have a problem beyond the C172 update. As P3D won't run without being accredited by the reg entry, if the rest of the sim is running then the issue is that the updater cannot find it because it isn't where it expects to find it, or it doesn't have the correct permissions.
REBOOT the computer from a cold start. MAKE SURE P3D has the correct permissions - right click on Prepar3D. exe and Run As Administrator. Does it load ?
Re: Updater problems
ok Got the updater to do a P3D C172 Update cool. Now when I try to open the aircraft configurator I get an error about .net framework. Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. if you would like to continue, the application will ignorethis error and attempt to continue.

Re: Updater problems
That last message sounds like you didn't install simconnect.

Which would have been a recommendation if he had actually answered the system specs question.cristi.neagu wrote:That last message sounds like you didn't install simconnect.
