Well if it is slowly banking to the left that is normal turn the yoke right to counteract.

Speedy,

Not a good idea on takeoff if the aircraft is in slow flight. I really have no idea what is going on here with very little information to go on, but if the aileron is not working then it needs more right rudder.

I was talking about his" slow banking to the left in flight"

My reply for that is correct.

Oh I see, I'm taking about banking to the left at a high AoA right after takeoff.

I replied to that last comment in a rush.

It is tiring on the right leg to keep a 172 coordinated in slow flight. On a 182 the force required is very high and if you aren't used to it, your leg muscles will start to feel sore after a few minutes.

Actually even in slow flight it takes a fair amount of right rudder to keep the aircraft coordinated and the ailerons generally still remain neutral if flown correctly. Applying a lot of aileron to counter a rolling tendency suggests that the aircraft may be flying very uncoordinated.

It isn't uncommon to have crossed controls in slow flight while remaining coordinated, but again the ailerons should remain more or less neutral.

So this begs the question for John, is auto-rudder enabled in the sim settings?

Auto rudder is not enabled. I'm do apply quite a bit of right ruddder. I'll try to get images or better yet a video up as soon as I can.

Someone else posted on another thread that the FSX rudder trim remains effective in the C172 despite this model not having a rudder trim. Try to recenter your rudder trim as that would most definitely create issues if it was not centered.

When you do manage to get some images, it would be very helpful if we could see the control deflections as well (either in the cockpit or outside looking at the actual surface positions). Note that these will not be accurate if you're getting screens or video footage from an instant replay.

Thanks,
