Autopilot problem

Post by sebastianAQ »

Hi guys!

Im writting from Perú, greetings from here!
Well, im new on this forum. I am using the 172 Trainer daily, i got the latest Accu-Sim update, and it helps me a lot. But today, I was flying like always, and suddelny my Autopilot stop working, cannot maintain alttitude, heading or VS. No problem with following a GPS route, but it can't follow the heading bug. I was reading the same problem in this forum without finding any solution. Everything was working fine untill today, by the way, when its in ROLL position, it start banking to the left making circles, i can move the yoke while in AP mode, but can't control altitude, even when I put the ARM mode, can anybody help me? Will thank a lot.
Happy landings for everybody!

Did you check the circuit breakers and maintenance hangar for issues?

Thanks for the reply!
Yes, circuit brakers all in, and no problems in maintenance hangar.

Hi Sebastian.
When you say it follows GPS but not the hdg bug , are you selecting GPS/HDG on the glareshield to whichever you wish to use.
Also when you engauge the auto pilot , are you holding the on button for a couple of secs or more , as it does not switch on with a quick momentary push .
These are mistakes i made , when i first started useing the c172 .
