Hi, I have well over one hundred hours on the 172 and everything has worked beautifully so far, but all of a sudden the sound disappeared. I have done everything I can to trouble shoot but to no avail. My other A2A planes all still work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Sound gone in in FSX
Re: Sound gone in in FSX
Hi,
Do you recall any changes, that you have made prior to this event of losing sound in C172? (to the sim or the windows, any installations or deinstallations)
Have you tried to restart the sim and start a new flight with C172? (Try the Q key - it enables and disables sound in the sim)
Cheerz,
Will

I don't recall changing anything, no new add ons or anything. I know about the q key, if that was off, the other planes I have would also be silent. It seemed to happen out of the blue. No exterior sound either. I really don't want to uninstall and lose all those hours.
Re: Sound gone in in FSX
Hi,
I understand. If you reinstall your A2A Cessna 172, you won't lose your hours. The C172RLog.dat file is kept under an \A2A\Cessna172\ folder in your \Documents folder and does not get affected by uninstalling and reinstalling.(You may want to make a backup just in case)
This might be your final resort, but not before you try several other things:
1) Check the volume under "Shift+3" menu
2) Check if have ran the latest updater on C172, found here:
https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewto ... 08&t=57819
3) and if 1 and 2 did not work, try to update your sound drivers
Hope this is helpful.

Re: Sound gone in in FSX
In addition to what Will said, the A2A sounds are played through your Windows default sound device, so make sure that one is set correctly and up and running.

Hello,
the external sounds are different so its very strange to lose them too, normally its just the Accu-sim internal sounds to troubleshoot as they play differently.
Have you checked your shift + 3 volume slider?
thanks,
Lewis

Re: Sound gone in in FSX
Thanks guys, I will try those things tonight and report back. I am pretty sure the volume is up since it works on all the other a2a planes I have.
I Hope to fix it since this is one of my favorite planes ever for FSX. I can barely fly other vendors planes anymore.

Re: Sound gone in in FSX
Thanks for the help everybody, I feel kind of dumb. I didn't realize that there were volume controls in the mini control panel(shift 3). I dont know how it got turned down or why the outside sound wasn't working but turning it up there fixed it. There must be something else I did because I had no idea there were volume controls there to turn down. The other weird thing is, when I went into the maintenance hanger the hours were gone, now it says 1.9 hours. Oh well the logbook backs it up, so I am back to flying it. This plane and Pilot Edge make for a very excellent simulation.
