GTN 650 and C172 Trainer

Post by bryannogues »

Hello,

I seem to be having an issue with my Flight1 GTN 650 and the A2A C-172 in Prepar3D. It seems to work perfectly one time. However, when I restart the sim and power on the aircraft, the GTN never comes alive. I have it all set up in the C172 configurator. It works great in the virtual cockpit when it does work. I was just wondering why it would stop working the next time I try to start Prepar3D.

The way I get it to come back is to go back into the C-172 Configuration tool and basically select the GTN650 again, even though it's still selected. Any ideas how to avoid having to reconfigure every time?

Sorry if this problem seems vague, it's just kind of frustrating.

Thanks,
Bryan

I had this only once this morning, after updating my GTN 750 to version 1.19 last night, using P3D v3.4 with A2A c182. I've disabled and enabled GPSr using A2A configurator. When reloading the aircraft I've got an error popup telling something about a NIL value. But after a restart of P3D everything seems to work fine. Also with c172 trainer.

Hi guys,

There are certain issues with the latest GTN release (1.19), including black screens.

See the Flight1 support forum for further details and possible solutions: http://www.simforums.com/forums/answere ... 57096.html

Viele Grüße | Best regards,
Oliver

Hello,

how are you loading the aircraft?

Is your C172 all updated with the latest updater form us and is your GTN all updated from Flight1?

thanks,
Lewis

Thanks for the welcome.

Earlier today when I went to fly I couldn't get the GTN 650 to power on at all (blank screen). I tried my usual trick of re-selecting it in the A2A C172 configurator, but it didn't help. I followed the advice on the Flight1 topic that was linked above (thank you for that, by the way). It sounds like it is a known issue with the Flight1 GTN. I uninstalled the Flight1 GTN and reinstalled it and it's working correctly as of now.

This might sounds like a dumb questions, but how can I check that I'm running the latest version of the A2A C172?

Thanks,
Bryan

Hello,

if you haven't run the latest Accu-sum updater you are not running the latest version.

Might be a good idea for P3D users that have upgraded from one version to another to delete the client.wyc file in the p3D update folder ( or I guess you can delete the entire folder), other wise the update might not "take". I had this problem, had run the updater several times, but it didn't work, until I delete that file for each A2A aircraft I had.

The file is located in the / Lockheed martin/Prepar3D V2 or 3/A2A/model of aircraft/update_p3d/client.wyc
