cant get 172 to start

I have the steam verison of FSX. Did a clean install of FSX and 172 newest versions. Does not work - cannot start the engines, Yoke does not move. Sometimes plane is moving without the engine and prop turning. Starts without oil. Seems like there is no battery or some sort of damage. Cannot access the maintenance hanger it says: access to maintenance hanger only on ground with engine off. Click to bypass - although when you click it it does not bypass. I disabled auto mixture. All other aircraft from other companies are working perfectly. Im GA pilot in real life so I am familiar with start up procedures. Looks to me like a bug. pls advise

when you say a clean install of FSX did you totally remove the old install prior to the new one? (Sounds like you might have some corrupted a re-verification of files in steam can correct this)

When you installed the C172 have you also run the latest updater?

Are your FSX settings as noted in the manual for your product?

Fsx settings correct - the main thing is to turn off auto mixture correct? Can you send me a link with the exact specs in one place & I will confirm.

I believe that I did install the latest update however I will do so via your link and report back. Tx

the manual for your simulation is under your start menu >> all programs > A2A Simulations and contains the setup details and details on the simulation, from fueling and pre-flight to the keys used and setting requirements.

I did eventually get it to work by completely uninstalling steam, FSX, and A2A - along with deleting the registry values. For the purpose of your readers I think the problem was when I installed steam I didn't completely remove the original FSX therefore something went wrong with the a2a installation - namely how I installed it.. Perhaps I did not install it into the right directory – the steam version of FSX. I'd recommend before converting over to steam that users completely uninstall all traces of previous FSX to avoid problems. And read the instructions very carefully in terms of where to install A2A. otherwise at this point I am good to go.

Good to hear you got it up and running and though the dual install wouldn't really affect the 172 it can have affects with some add-ons in particular scenery due to folder changes if steam edition is installed whilst disc version is.
