Seat too high

Post by jassimley »

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to lower the seat so I can see out of 172 side window. If I need to configure a file please tell me how to find the file and what to do. I am running fsx steam on windows 10. Many thanks for any help. Jason.

VIRTUAL COCKPIT EYEPOINT MOVEMENT (only works in VC)
(hold keys down and you can also move the eyepoint all the way back into the main passenger cabin if you like, if the plane has one modelled )

SHIFT+Enter= Up
SHIFT+Backspace=Down
SHIFT+CTRL+Enter= RIGHT
SHIFT+CTRL+Backspace= LEFT
CTRL+Backspace= Forward
CTRL+Enter= Backwards
Take care, Brett

Firstly, thank you so much for your reply. This works for me. I just drag out the virtual screen that appears in the corner until it fills the screen[THUMBS UP SIGN]

A permanent solution would be to edit the "eyepoint=" statement in the aircraft.cfg file located in your
A2A_C172 folder.

ere is the default entry:

[Views]
eyepoint= -0.35, -0.85, 1.99 //(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datum

Just so you know, with a proper sight angle out front, it's normal for the top of the door to be eye-level.

To add to Canders' reply, from advice I've seen elsewhere the normal seat height is so that the top of the engine cowling is just visible.
