Prepar3d crashes after selection C172

Direct X9 is not the same as 11 the two co-exist. Without the latest dx9 you will get a crash upon c172 selection.

Have you changed your default flight to a default aircraft running? Also are you running P3D with the panel state set to save as this will

Yes, I start Prepar3D with a default plane and it loads just fine. But it crashes when I switch to C172.

How do I set the panel state? As far as I remember, I don't recall such a setting in the Prepar3D settings.

Also, I understand that DirectX 9 is separate from DirectX 11 however, my computer refused to install even when I run the installer you linked to with "run as Admin".

Ok, I think I was able to get DirectX 9 installed by some other download I found.

This was the only way to get DirectX 9 isntalled alongsisde 11.

After a reboot, I have the same problem.

Can you please post your specs and also let us know that your A2A Simulation, that P3D and that your windows installation is all updated, ie, if windows 8 you are running hr latest 8.1 updated.
