Accusim sounds - output interface choice

Post by crum »

Hello,

Not sure if situation the same in FSX, but currently in P3D2 Accusim sounds are always played through default windows audio interface even if I set P3D to use another audio card (not default). Accusim seems to ignore audio output settings in sim.

Hope this could be fixed somehow.

Accu-sim isn't FSX or in this case P3D which is why it isn't working. The Accu-sim simulation engine is set to play through the default windows device.

thanks,

Hello Lewis,

Yes, I understand that Accusim has it's own independent sound engine, but why not to check sim settings and make Accusim use the chosen audio output? It seems logical and not too hard to implement... or...?

This feature would be welcomedby all the simmers with separate sound systems for environment and voice (e.g. for VATSIM flying - voice in headphones conected to the default computer output and engines from external sound system).

By the way: I can hear no sound in external views. Is this normal? The plane soars like bat, without any sounds.

External sounds are FSX, so I'd check your sound settings again.

Having voice come through a separate sound system is no issue, so long as the default device used by FSX is set then all FSX and Accu-sim sounds will play through one device. Then you can set the voice component to play through a second non default device.

Yes, external sounds are playing through the sim's output.
My situations is: sim output set onto non-default audio interface and Accusim sounds are still going through the default one. Pretty rare situation, I'm sure.
But why not to match Accusim's output with the one set inside the sim?

Hello Crum,

the Accu-sim simulation engine is entirely separate for FSX so its not sim dependent. Ill raise this though with the guys regarding if theres a way to easily attach the same device settings in cross platform windows to FSX.

I wonder if the sound of external environment could be increased when opening a door or a window? Increase/decrease volumes on nearby AC's is not present atm.
