Installed and only two minor issues.

Post by B-17 Flier »

I cannot get the flaps to wiggle up and down in pre-flight, can get the rudder to do it.

I can see the red nav light bleeding through the vertical pedestal.

I saw some fogging on the windows but I assume that's normal as the B-17 does it.

1. Follow the checklists and you will see in the cabin checklist you have to turn on the battery, extend flaps, and turn on the pitot heat. If you don't do that you can't wiggle the flaps (they lock tightly into place when not extended) and the pitot heater will be "cold to the touch" (i.e. a blue icon when you click & hold)

2. This is a global FSX bug (default z-buffer precision variable in camera definitions isn't high enough to always "know" when certain objects should not be visible from the cockpit) There is a fix for this by editing the cameras.cfg in c:\users\(username)\Appdata\roaming\microsoft\fsx and adding the line ClipMode=Minimum to the vc section, like so:

[CameraDefinition.002]
Title = Virtual Cockpit
Guid = {C95EAB58-9E4A-4E2A-A34C-D8D9D948F078}
Description = This is the description of the virtual cockpit view.
Origin = Virtual Cockpit
MomentumEffect =No
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = None
ShowAxis = YES
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = 0.7
SmoothZoomTime = 2.0
ZoomPanScalar = 1.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = TRUE
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Cockpit
ClipMode = Minimum
PitchPanRate=30
HeadingPanRate=75
PanAcceleratorTime=0
HotKeySelect=1

3. Yes windows fog up as in the other A2A Accu-sim products, you need to open the vents or a window etc

Lewis, this is incredible. I have just a handful of planes but this one beats them all. The instruments alone are like a work of art.

It behaves exactly like a real Cessna. Every last detail increases the immersion. I'm gonna spend many hours flying back to basics and VOR to VOR VFR flying. This was exactly what I was looking for. I have three with the G1000 and being a real-world avionics tech I can really get into glass but I started on steam and it was the one high-quality plane I was lacking. Now I have it and you have one satisfied customer. Great job guys.

What's next?
