No sound in cockpit - P3d v5.4

Post by blazer05 »

This problem is pervasive across the C172 - the C182 - and the Comanche 250.

I have searched and been unable to find a fix.

I am open to any suggestions. In the options - I have the default selected. Note I have sound with other payware aircraft - my only problem seems to be A2A aircraft.

Thanks in advance.

Correct. They have worked in the past.

Something changed without me realizing it so I have no clue when it stopped.

Is there an .xml file similar to the one used by the Comanche in MSFS? That seemed to work for that simulator.

Hello,

how are you loading into P3D are you creating a new flight?

Is the correct sound device selected for Accu-sim to play through- You can hit the alt key in game to access the top menu and select the correct device for Accu-sim.

thanks,

Yes creating a new flight.

Will check using the ALT key and get back to you.

Tried your suggestion with no luck. I am using the default sound device which works with other aircraft.

I am at a loss.

First thing I do before beginning a flight in P3D is to restart my computer in order to avoid residual stuff from previous programs tripping things up during my flight. After the 'puter is fully restarted, I right click the sound icon on the lower right side of the screen, and select Open Volume Mixer. Then I start Active Sky, then P3D; which comes up with the menu showing a default aircraft at a simple, default airport. I select my aircraft and airport for the "Mission for Today," and launch the flight.

Sometimes I use my headphones, and sometimes I use my Bose speakers for a given flight. After my flight opens up, I hit [Alt] on the keyboard and select Options, Sound, and then select the appropriate sound devices.

Usually that procedure gets sound working just fine. Sometimes, however, the sound gets really low when I select ATIS on the P3D communication menu. When that happens I [Alt], [Tab] over to the Volume Mixer and find that the P3D volume slider is way down near the bottom of the vertical scale. I slide it back up and things usually work just fine after I get back to P3D.

Give that a try, if you haven't already.

Yes Lewis. I did have the correct sound device. This is baffling.

I have the Comanche for MSFS now and will try it to see if I have sound in MSFS.

Just to double check the correct sound device is displayed in the Accu-sim sound menu not the P3D settings menu.

Also can you let us know about your audio pipeline on your system do you use more than one sound device, USB headset for example is an separate sound device. Also just to check that the volume is turned up in the Accu-sim aircraft settings under the shift + 3 panel.
