I think the payware camera utility "EZCA" might be causing issues with the pre-flight inspection process.
When you run the EZCA config utility it adds this to the aircraft.cfg in order to work:
[CameraDefinition.201]
Title=EZdok Aircraft Universal camera
Guid={D8D67955-2E9B-4e75-9D8B-8EFFBBFAC65B}
Description=Universal camera for EZdok cam utility
Origin=Center
SnapPbhAdjust=Swivel
SnapPbhReturn=FALSE
PanPbhAdjust=Swivel
PanPbhReturn=FALSE
Track=None
ShowAxis=FALSE
AllowZoom=TRUE
InitialZoom=0.40
ShowWeather=Yes
InitialXyz=0,0,0
InitialPbh=10, 0, 0
XyzAdjust=TRUE
Category=Aircraft
MomentumEffect=FALSE
ClipMode=Minimum
HotKeySelect=4
I don't know for sure this is the cause, but when I run through the preflight, each station is one off from where it should be i.e. the tail inspection is at the baggage door, the right aileron inspection is at the tail, etc. Also the "click and hold" for the ailerons doesn't do anything, but the elevator trim tab does (although I can't see it since the camera is at the baggage door instead of at the tail)

Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
I can confirm that EZCA may cause the views to be off, but there's little A2A can do about it. If you find the view off, simply use the standard view controls to get the object back in view. Hope that helps.

Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
I am fiddling with the camera definitions in the aircraft.cfg to see if I can come up with a way to get it play along with EZCA. I did find a work-around for the time being. When you start the preflight inspection, make sure you are in your standard pilot cockpit view with EZCA (the one you normally fly with), then open the pre-flight window and make sure the cabin button is selected first. Then use ONLY the left arrow button on the preflight window to move around and it should move you to the proper camera position in the preflight. The moment you click one of the other preflight areas out of order it gets wonky again, so go back to your EZCA cockpit view, then repeat the above.
Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
Thank you, I'll try that, because I've encountered the same problem here.
Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
I can't fly without EzDok Here the walkaround is completely messed up too..

Same here.
The automatic view change to specific preflight stations is nonsense. The view is anywhere it has not to be.
My FSX key assignments "A", "Shift A", "S", "Shift S" are deleted. I use exactly the same assignments now in EZDOK-> Options -> Define Keys and Buttons -> "DEFAULT VIEW SYSTEM". My EZDOK "cycle view" cameras are controled by 1,2,3,4.

Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
Just reset your view. I have EZCA and have no issue. This is not A2A's fault. I simply just use my hat switch to get the view where it needs to be if it is off. Easy peasy.
Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
I have EZDok installed, and the cameras are all working fine to start with.
So I proceeded to go through the <shift>1, <shift>2 etc pop up windows. All worked fine upto <shift>8 as you guys have found. But, and here is where I think we can work with this, I pressed my "S" key to bring up an FSX default view, and INSTEAD of using the little "<" and ">" to walk round the plane, I pressed the little DOTS to select the stations to look at. I did it TWICE to make sure, and with a bit hat switch movement it was all working fine. The first time I missed the step where you go inside to turn on battery and pitot heat, but I got it second time okay.
Now here's the bit that threw me quite a lot. Once I had finished my walk round, it took a little time for my PC to redraw the VC. When it had finished the redraw, I couldn't see a thing. The whole cockpit had bloody misted up Thanks for that A2A, nice of you to warn us
Now I'm going to just sit here on the apron and admire this bird for the rest of the night.
I hope this helps others with EZDok, as I found it quite a nice experience.

Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
Just move your visual perspective mate. Like I said, I just use my hat switch.
Part of the problem is that EZCA saves the last position of every camera, so if you're panning around, etc, you're going to find that when you switch views it will be somewhere else. It's annoying but I only first noticed it when I stopped using my TrackIR.

Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
After some tweaking I've got it working 99% with EZCA. Now the only issue is actually doing what I posted above - starting in cabin and then pressing the left arrow flips to the "EZdok universal camera" stuck inside the external model. Other than that, pre-flight inspection works just fine
You'll notice that by default, EZCA inserts its camera definition into every aircraft.cfg as [CameraDefinition.201]. If you set that to [CameraDefinition.0] and then renumber every preflight camera definition plus 1 (changing [CameraDefinition.0] to [CameraDefinition.1] all the way through to [CameraDefinition.20] for the left flap view.
Now all works great except for the one little caveat I mentioned. Just remember as Cody said, if you've got the camera pointed off in a different direction then straight forward in the cockpit when you click one of the preflight buttons, it'll "remember" that position offset so you might have to "re-aim" your viewpoint but it's not a big deal.
It's actually kinda neat with TrackIR active, you can move through the inspection and actually "look" around at each area.
edit: Here's my camera definition section in case it might save anyone a little time (just delete all [CameraDefinition.xx] sections in the aircraft.cfg and replace with the below lines. BACK UP YOUR DEFAULT AIRCRAFT.CFG FIRST!

Scratch everything I wrote above, somehow I missed that my changes broke the ezca external cams... back to the drawing board!
Re: EZdok EZCA + 172
Tried them and was going to report this back to you, but you discovered it first. Thanks for the efforts though!
