Engine Fire after take-off?

Post by kberg »

Hi All,

Had the plane in the hanger to do some maintenance and got clean bill of health. Went for a flight. At climb out I saw some smoke out the window. I toggled to chase plane view and WOW...there was an engine fire??? Well, I turned around and got it landed... did not loose power, or any indication with the instruments?

I should have taken a picture in the air

The maintenance hanger there was no indication of a problem after landing? Any idea what the problem was?

Thanks, Kent.

Hi Kent,

It sounds to me like you hit the “I” key or which ever key toggles the smoke system on your simulator. This would trigger the smoke that you would see during a fire and so on. Just take her up and hit “I” and see if the same smoke come up again.

Happy flying
