No Panels Visible

Post by namron2 »

I haven't used C172 for some time.
Now, when I open it with Windows 10, I cannot get any panels to open. If I press one of the shift key combinations, it just flashes for a second and disappears?

I cannot even get panels using the FSX open panel method?

I used the link to download and re-install sim connect and it does not fix it?

FSX w /SP2 and W10

Thank you

Norm

Checked FSX transparency levels and tried it at both ends of spectrum with no change?

Thanks

After doing some extensive searching through the forums, I found a series of posts from Ian-D who had the same problem!

He eventually resolved it by re-installing SP2???

I did the same thing and it cured it..........Hooray and thanks a million to Ian_D !!!! :D :D :D

One thing I did learn is that this is, by no means, an uncommon problem as I found many instances of people with the exact same thing!

Anyway, all well that ends well and thanks again to Ian :D :D :D

Thank you.

Suggestion?

After doing my extensive, research into this particular problem and, seeing numerous people experiencing that same condition, it was obvious that the eventual solution (re-install SP2) was found by the person experiencing the anomaly and, not as a result of a suggestion by the forum principals responding?

Is there a way that this resolve could be suggested as a more initial fix attempt thus perhaps, saving a lot of time and grief?

Just a suggestion

Hi Norm,

We try to respond to customer's posts as quickly as possible, but with the best will in the world, it's not possible for us to man the forums 24x7. In your case, you posted at around 1am in my timezone and you'd found the answer to your problem by 7:20am.

In this case, the problem you describe has different solution depending on the user's system. However, I'm glad that you found Ian D post - that's why we have open support forums. :)

Thanks,
Nick

There is also the FAQ topic for the C172 in the C172 Tech Support forum.

http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 08&t=35640

In there is listed that Service Pack 1 and 2 is required for the software to work. This is also noted in the manual in the prelude to the installation instructions in red text.

Thank you

To be absolutely clear, I was not making any suggestions that my post took a long time for a response, on the contrary, it was responded to very quickly, thanks.
Also, as I have been a simmer a for many years with a fully equipped motion platform , I am very conversant with PC systems and various cockpit automations. I am fully aware that SP1and 2 are essentials!

Thank you both for taking the time to respond

Norm
