What is the ambient temperature? That’s gonna have a massive impact on the amount of priming needed to get the engine started. You can check for the temperature in your shift+3 menu or the temp gauge in the cockpit.

Generally 5 seconds of prime does the trick everytime. I've never found that to vary by much whether in winter or summer. The biggest factor is how hot the engine is after a recent run. If the engine has been shut down within the last 15-30 minutes and is still reading close to the green arc on CHT or Oil temp, then a no prime start will likely fire up. Priming might result in flooding and hard starting.

the technique taught to me, and which I teach to to others:

prime until the fuel flow gauge shows a rise, then stabilizes (the needle stops moving). At that point we pulled the mixture to cutoff, then turned off the fuel pump. The callout was "rise, stabilized"
