Flight1 Aspen EFD1000 compatibility

Post by leec5 »

I have the Aspen EFD1000 add-on from Flight1.com. This glass panel works perfectly with the stock FSX C172. My question is if it is also compatible with the A2A C172?

I tried installing it but it doesn't seem to work. The GTN750 add-on from the same company works perfectly so I was just surprised when the Aspen didn't work...especially since it's a lot less complex than the GTN750.

Afraid the F1 Aspen EADI/EHSI package won't be compatible with the A2A 172. Though it may be a simpler piece of software than the GTN 750, the A2A GA fleet all have 3-D gauge components built into their virtual cockpits (unlike the default 172SP). This means that replacement gauges can't simply be 'dropped in'.

I suspect it's for this reason that A2A have limited support for third party avionics to selected GPS units only.

Cheers,
Nick

Hello,

yes Nick is correct. The included support is for the RXP/Mindstar 430 and 530 units and the flight1 650 and 750 units at this time.

thanks,
Lewis
