So I was headed in to the EAA chapter meeting last night, and this plane caught my eye:
And I thought to myself, hey, I wonder if anyone's put that on the A2A 172 yet. To my luck, no one had, so I decided to take a crack at it. Granted, there are minor things here and there that have more to do with the fact that the real-world plane is a 172I and not a 172R than anything else, but otherwise, I'd have to say it came out pretty well, if I say so myself!

***UPDATE***
Sometimes, a picture just can't capture the entire essence of an airplane's paint scheme. In this case, I was back out at the airport today, and realized that the green and gold colors actually had a slightly metallic tint to them. Wanting to give it justice, I decided to update the specular texture file to produce the same look. Here it is:
