Just installed Prepar3dv2.5, orbx global base, a2a Cessna

Post by markus wolle »

Just installed Prepar3dv2.5, orbx global base, a2a Cessna, everything worked fine. But the Cessna does not start (not even with autostart), doesn't respond to yoke and rudder inputs. The input configuration tool allows only to assign trim, etc, but not yoke and rudder. After I apply the latest patch, there is now a second control configurator, but it cannot be run because of an unhandled exception. Tried to reinstall twice. What gives?

A few things here.

#1 You need to run the SimConnect installer because P3D does not install it by default. From the Troubleshooting FAQ:
"P3D - Installed but nothing works and all is broken!?

P3DV2 sometimes wont install the required simconnect files. No worries though as they are provided by Lockheed in the following directory;
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib"
#2 You need to run the Accu-sim Updater (the link is at the top of the forum) to get your Cessna 172 up to date.

#3 Your yoke and rudder is not assigned within the Input Configurator but within P3D itself under its control settings (or FSUIPC if you use that.)

#4 The "second control configurator" you're referring to must be the "aircraft configurator" which is for setting up some key options like 3rd party GPS and landing light types. I would guess it's crashing because you are not running it with full admin privileges.

The missing simconnect was the problem. Seems to work fine now. Thanks!
