1,630 hrs on the cessna 172 250hr oil changes

So im up to 1,600 hours on the 172 and have a question, at what point in accuesim does the oil quality not get any worse, its been about 250hrs since the last oil change and im just curious, only side effect ive noticed so far is oil pressure is on the slow side to rise at startup, but with 1600hrs on it still maintains good pressure and temp

I thought the oil change recommendation was every 25 hours. That is what is recommended in a real C 172.

I think he's torture testing it to find out what happens eventually.

Real world Cessna's oil change recommendations are based directly on Lycoming's SB 480E [pdf]. For an engine using full-flow filter, like in 172, the manufacturer's recommended interval is 50 hours or 4 months, whichever occurs first.

yes im just seeing how the aircraft behaves with a lack of oil changes lol, i keep all the other filters changed and fly the 172 normally besids not changing the oil it just give it top offs when needed

That's (technically) possible?
I would have thought, that an oil filter change would simulateneously mean an oil change, because if I unscrew an oil filter, the oil is draining away.
Isn't that the case?

The oil filter sits up high on the back of the engine, so what one loses when pulling the filter is just whatever amount being held in the pleats (filter material) that hasn't drained back into the sump.

I found a little vid that shows e.g. the oil draining at the bottom of the oil sump. A little bit further in the video is the oil filter being removed. You can see there's just enough in there to make a mess of things if not careful during removal.

If you mouse over the oil filter in the maintenance hangar, it says "change oil & filter", and that is what it does if you click it. You cannot change only the filter without the oil.

haha i should re specify that..i do not change the oil filter only the air filter and fuel filter, and just top off the oil every now and then
