Spent the morning trying to start from cold, the C-172 after watching tutorials and reading the manual a few times. Succeded in running the battery down about a dozen times. I then decided to check the forum, by searching the topic, and found a post by an A and E mechanic on the way to start this fuel injected engine if you are having trouble. Turned out I was leaving the fuel pump on too long and it was flooded and that is why it wouldn't fire. I followed his instructions for starting a flooded engine, and off it went. I love a product that has an active forum, that makes learning much easier.
