Hello -
Is it possible to construct a flight plan with multiple waypoints with the GNS 400 or can you only fly direct to a single waypoint / VOR / airport? I have been trying to learn the GNS 400 but there seems to be a lack of information available. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben

Re: Garmin GNS 400 Flight Plan Help
Unfortunately, the stock FSX units do not replicate a lot of the functionality in the real ones and this is one function you can not perform in flight.
You must go to the flight planning function in FSX, or use an external planner to create an FSX flight plan. Load the plan for your flight and you will then find that you can view the plan using FPL and fly it as expected.
Another function that does not work is OBS.
I do not use any add-on GPS units, so I have no idea how well those model the real units, but from what I've seen posted on these forums it seems like the FPL function works.

Re: Garmin GNS 400 Flight Plan Help
I had a feeling that was the case. Thanks for that information.
I would definitely be interested in buying an add on GPS unit for my C172. If anybody would like to chime in with their recommendations I would really appreciate that!
Thanks,
Ben

Hello Ben,
as it stands right now we only support the 3D integration of the RXP GNS units. However this may change in the future, we are looking at integration of the Flight 1 GTN units similar to how they are intergrated into the 182.
thanks,
Lewis

Hello Lewis -
Thanks for that information. I see that RXP makes a GNS 430 which I really like in the real world. Is this unit easy to install into the A2A C172?
Thanks,
Ben
