I think the issue finding anything is because you where looking here in the C172 forum rather than the c172 tech support forum but no worries. Heres the FAQ which lists where you can find the simconnect installer in your P3D installation;

Installed sim-connect and everything back to normal and I am grateful for this.

All is as it was now including message during installation of the latest update:

"This installer cannot locate the required files to upgrade. A native prepar3d version 2 of the c172 trainer needs to be installed first.
You can find this version at the A2A Online Store or other merchants that carry A2A Simulations products."

I am absolutely sure I have P3D version of 172. Just re-installed everything and have no FSX on my PC anymore...

Kind regards

Piotr

Hello,

did you purchase from the A2A Store. What is your order number, I can have a look to see what you have associated with your account and maybe suggest a re-download. Also for P3D is it installed in the default directory and have you restarted your machine recently?

thanks,

Hello,
Yes I have purchased it from A2A
Order Number: 95862
Date Ordered: Wednesday 17 December, 2014.

C172 was before and it is now installed in the default location (I don't like to change default locations). After installation of P3D I did restart my PC (I tend to do that after each installation).

Best regards

ptrmajewski,

Sorry for the trouble, and follow these steps:
- Uninstall of the P3D C172
- Go into your [P3D Install] / SimObjects / Airplanes / and delete the C172 Trainer folder
- Install the P3D version you have
- Run the Accu-Sim update here

Hello,
I have followed recommended steps and found that this time the updated was successful.

I did however managed to mess it up

I think I have tried to re-install it and what happens now is that I start off with C172 without updates.

1. I can install version 1.6 of the core update and that fixes my landing lights illuminating ground and texture imperfections.
2. When I am trying to run 26.1.15 update, it says I already have the latest version of the C172...

For some reason I can not get it right. I wonder If I could somehow go back to the point where 26.1.15 update would not recognize that this has already happened for C172...

Hello,

first up is to delete 1.6 as all you need run is the latest updater. Next go to your P3D>A2A folder and in the C172 folder delete the update folder then re-run the updater.

Hello and thank you for reply!

Not quite sure how to delete 1.6 update. Is it ok to just re-install the plane?

Kind regards,
Piotr

C172 and Prepar3d - cannot turn engines on

Post by ptrmajewski »

Hello,
This worked, thank you.

Deleted C172 folder from sim object, installed C172 again and ran the newest update.

No idea whether this information may be useful for anybody, ever, but when installed update 1.6 I have encountered some rather strange issues with the Cherokee and the Skylane...

Cherokee: During engine startup, found the fuel pump sound like fuel pump from C172. Performed repair in Win control panel.

C182: Loaded saved flight and found the aircraft with a damaged prop, oil leak and lost all aircraft sounds. Mixture lever wouldn't move and some instruments were "bouncy", just moving about randomly as the aircraft stood still the whole time.

In anycase, tested all 3 aircraft just now and everything seems to be perfect again.

Thank you very much and congratulations for excellent work performance! Your products are quite amazing and well worth the money. I am looking forward to next releases.
You guys are doing great job!

Regards

Piotr Majewski
