Hi,
I just upgrade to prepar3d 2.4 and cannot get the engine to start. The radios do turn one.
Any advice ?
Regards,
Philippe

Hello,
Have you seen the troubleshooting FAQ? It sounds like you need to install the simconnect files.
Thanks,
Lewis

Re: C172 and Prepar3d - cannot turn engines on
Hi,
Thanks.
No I had not (sorry) and I found the update A2A_Update_11_14_14 that tells me that I need "... a native Prepar3D version 2 of the C172 Trainer ...".
It correctly says I do not have the other planes but gives me a difference error message for the C172.
Note that I re-installed the C172 followed by the "core update 1.6"
Does that mean that I need to purchase a new release of the trainer ?
Regards,
Philippe

Hello,
which aircraft simulator do you own from us? Are you trying to run the FSX simulator in P3D?
thanks,
Lewis

Re: C172 and Prepar3d - cannot turn engines on
Hi Lewis,
I purchased prepar3d a while back as well as the C172 Trainer from A2A and it worked OK.
I just went through the installation process of C172 from scratch and it asks me whether I want to install under FSX or Prepar3d (does that answer your question ?)
I have not looked at prepar3d in quite some time (moved to x-plane as I found it unstable on my system and decided to try the latest version this weekend) so I do not know whether A2A now has prepar3d-specific versions or not.
Regards,
Philippe

Hello,
We had to change our licensing to match up with Lockheeds with the latest P3DV2.
the P3D licenses for the platforms native simulations are here;
https://a2asimulations.com/store/index. ... e0ee39c501
thanks,
Lewis

Hello,
yes this is correct, for P3D the new license for the P3D Native simulation is required.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: C172 and Prepar3d - cannot turn engines on
Hello,
I believe I am experiencing similar issue...
Have installed P3D V2 with 172, 182 and Cherokee.
Installed update A2A_Update_01_25_15 successfully for 182 and Cherokee but when it gets to C172 this is what I'm getting:
"This installer cannot locate the required files to upgrade. A native prepar3d version 2 of the c172 trainer needs to be installed first.
You can find this version at the A2A Online Store or other merchants that carry A2A Simulations products."
All A2A aircrafts I purchased areb for P3D so I don't unsderstand why it wouldn't want to update. And just the 172...
FYI
I have been using C172 licensed for FSX earlier, before I considered moving to P3D. Once moved to P3D, bought another C172 licensed for P3D.
Kind regards
Piotr

Re: C172 and Prepar3d - cannot turn engines on
Hello,
FSX and P3D are different and the simulations have different files and formats because of this. If switching from FSX to P3D please make sure you unistall and remove any FSX files from your P3D installation and install the correct P3D Accu-sim simulation.
thanks,
Lewis

Not quite sure understand how to read "remove FSX files from P3D installation" though.
TO make it a little bit more clear:
I have installed both simulators in Program Files (x86) folder.
FSX: Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games (...) + A2A C172 for FSX
Prepar3D: Program Files (x86)/Lockheed Martin (...) + A2A C172, C182, Cherokee for Prepar3D
Is there any file overlapping then since both simulators are installed on the same SSD drive but different folders (default installation preference)?
Sorry, I can't get my head around this.
Thank you in advance,
Piotr

Hello,
did you ever have the FSX version installed in P3D?
To install into P3D please run the P3D C172 Trainer installation, if you purchased both you will have two software installers one for FSX and one for P3D.
thanks,
Lewis

Hello and please forgive me if this is confusing, I am new to simulation.
No,
Never installed FSX version in P3D.
In any case, I have just uninstalled FSX completely, unistalled P3D, and A2A addons. Installed P3D and A2A aircrafts again, started it up and found that all A2A aircrafts in P3D (C172, C182 and Cherokee are "damaged" and I am unable to do anything in the hangar.
Found a post where it is suggested to one user to install sim-connect. Is this correct? If so, I am having problem to find it...
Kind regards
Piotr

Hello,
I think the issue finding anything is because you where looking here in the C172 forum rather than the c172 tech support forum but no worries. Heres the FAQ which lists where you can find the simconnect installer in your P3D installation;
