C172 GPS Integration

Post by caribpilot »

Since the upcoming C182 will have a wider range of GPS integration options, will this also be made available for the C172?

Hello, it is something we will look into but nothing is set in stone.

Thanks,

Sounds good. RXP is a good product but it isn't supported. I use the Mindstar and will possibly get the newer units from flight1. Having these for the C172 would be great. Hope you guys will add support for these units on the 172 whenever you release the circuit breaker update.

It would be great if you integrated Flight 1 GTN 750

I also think you could earn money with the upgrade to GNS 750/650 like Milviz does. You can easily charge 9 USD, most of us would be more than happy to pay this small amount for a fully integrated Garmin GPS into the Cessna trainer

+1 for at least the F1 GTN 650, which would be okay in a C172 trainer...

I'd have to agree. While the GTN750 is a great navigation tool, it may be overkill for the 172. The GTN650 would be a great upgrade from the "stock" GPS provided in the original model.

anything new on this topic? I'm hoping that we may be able to use the Flight1 or Mindstar units in the C172 sometime in the near future.

Since the last update last year the modifications found on the forum for adding the Mindstar units no longer work.

Hello,

its in the works for a future release to add some new options and dual up some options also. Nothings set in stone and we don't have any release date for the next update.

thanks,

Personally until I see 3rd party integration in more than 1 aircraft (c182) I'll stick with default gps. For the $50 I'd spend on the flight 1 650/750 I'd rather get the p47 or spitfire. Now if I could use a 3rd party gps for say the civ mustang, c172, pa28, and c182 then I'd prob get it.
