I have the P-47 with about 10 repaints for it. I was just about to install this update when I saw this about the lack of back-ups for this plane. Will wait for the fix before doing the installation of the up-date. The download at about 11am Pacific time this morning only took about 10 seconds.

If we have both FSX and FSX-SE (Steam edition) do we need to run the updater twice changing the destination folder to each instance of FSX?

Dave, yes, you need to run the updater for each FSX and FSX SE.

BTW, the P-47 aircraft.cfg files are being backed up with the latest 01/26 installer.

No problems on my side. All the liveries (for the mil P51 and 182) are still there after the update.

My question related only to the P-47. Since the 01_24_15 update lost my installed repaints, didn't back up the old CFG files, etc, then before I instal any further updates, I'd like to know if the 01_26_15 updates addresses these issues for the P-47.

Yes as noted by Scott the cfg is now backed up so you can copy/paste the repaints to the new cfg file.

Thanks for the reply, Lewis.

Unfortunately, the latest update has only backed up the corrupted files from update 01_24_15, so the files with my installed repaints are gone. It also hasn't fixed the missing sounds when operating the oil cooler and turbo intercoolers. I'm now thinking that I'm going to uninstall my P-47 and re-install it to recover the missing sounds, unless I can simply re-install it over the top of my existing P-47, in the hope that this will fix the sound issue, then re-run the latest update.

I'd welcome your advice on this.

yes it will only backup the existing files, but not sure what you mean about corrupt files???

For the sounds we will look into if theres an issue

the updater is all that is needed, you run the updater and it will download and install any required updates.
