Hey Rob,
What graphics settings are you using in p3d? In NVidia Inspector?
Many thanks,
Sion

And the A2A C-172 still works ... less the red tail light ... which totally ruins the experience and I'm just going to stop all my flight simulation until it's fixed
And how come no bug splats on the window and how come I only see my female passenger in external views not in my VC ... and how come she doesn't slap me when I put my hand on her leg? Gaaa, so unrealistic ... I'm giving up.
... he he he
Enjoy.
Cheers, Rob.
EDIT: on a serious note, this 2.2 release has a few extra features I didn't have in my Beta 2.2 ... noticed a few issues with performance when using many cloud layers and fog and using the Terrain "cast" shadow slider. Time for SLi/Crossfire and a bird told me that's coming up next.

The only thing I've noticed with the A2A 172 and P3D 2.2 is the Mindstar add-on GPS units cause a lockup if selected. I'm still tinkering with panel.cfg though, to try to make them work.
The default plane works fine but I deleted all the Dat files just to be safe.

The bigger problem is that when the beacon doesn't work, I found that the Taxi and Landing lights also didn't work correctly (in v.2.1 ... haven't verified this in v.2.2 yet).robains wrote:And the A2A C-172 still works ... less the red tail light ... which totally ruins the experience and I'm just going to stop all my flight simulation until it's fixed
The above can be fixed by reloading the A2A C-172 after the aircraft is running and the lights are on (but this sometimes damaged the aircraft).

Re: A2A C-172 in P3DV2.2 beta 2
Can any of you tell me what I have to do to install the C172 into P3Dv2.2?
I downloaded a fresh copy of the installer last night, as I had read on Avsim that this allows an install without having to trick P3D into thinking it's really FSX. However, when I run the installer and change the folder to where my P3D installation is (e:\Prepar3D), when I close the browse selection window, the location to install is automatically changed to e:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I have my FSX installation on drive D:\ however.
I'm afraid to push the button on this in case I screw up my existing FSX install. My question is, I guess, do I still need to put a dummy FSX.exe into P3D in order to install this?
Thanks
Jack

I don't have FSX installed on my current PC, so I cannot be 100% sure, but I would suggest putting a dummy FSX.exe file in your Prepar3D v2 directory. Then see if you can direct the C172 install to that directory.

I agree with this. Worked great for me.Arwen wrote:I don't have FSX installed on my current PC, so I cannot be 100% sure, but I would suggest putting a dummy FSX.exe file in your Prepar3D v2 directory. Then see if you can direct the C172 install to that directory.

Re: A2A C-172 in P3DV2.2 beta 2
FSX.exe in the P3D directory will allow all of the A2A aircraft to be installed without the need of any special tools. I keep a copy of the FSX.exe in my P3D folder and it causes no problems. I have the B17, P47, P51 and C172 all installed and working in P3DV2.2. If you do not have FSX on your computer, I have heard others say that you can make a copy of the P3D.exe and simply rename it to FSX.exe and that works also.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Rob, may I ask what settings your using for P3D 2.4. I just purchased it and will be installing the 172 but my sim doesn't look as sharp and AA is not very good. Are you using NVI- I thought it didn't work? If your using it, mind sharing your settings? Also, is there any cfg to P3D 2.4 to make the sim run better? Thanks in advance.
