It has been so long since I did a core revision that I can't remember how to reinstall my 3rd party skins.
Any help will be appreciated.
3rd party skins
Re: 3rd party skins
This is the "do it before you need it" procedure. I make a copy of aircraft.cfg. Control C, Control V is enough to do it. I also have a copy of the entire Simobjects folder on an external drive. Then, keep both of those up to date. When a Core update is installed, open the new aircraft.cfg and the backup in Notepad or other text editor. Find the last aircraft in the new file, then copy all of the aircraft.x sections below that point from the backup. The texture folders will still be there so that works.

Re: 3rd party skins
If you already installed the update and the aircraft.cfg was replaced with a new version do not fret, a backup was copied to "\FSX\A2A\Cessna172" for example.
Then follow what GlennC wrote.
