G-JANS

Post by skyhawk »

This is a repaint that I did som time ago. I did not have sufficient photos, so the livery was painted freely from the small photo that I used. But, a few weeks ago, I got an email from the owner of the G-JANS. He offered good reference material if I wanted to re-work the livery.
This weekend, I got a lot of photos, and I started changing the textures to match the original G-JANS. The aircraft is a Reims Rocket Cessna 172J (I think the "J" is rather rare), and she is in a beautiful condition. Here are some screenies from flights today. :D

Hi Gunnar ,
Reading your post , when you mentioned that G-JANS was a F172J made me realise that this was probably PH-HCG in a previous life ( or at least with the exact same paintscheme ) . This aircraft was owned by Tweety Air ( at the time ) and had Tweety bird on the tailfin . I had painted HCG for the Flight1 model .
Great job will be downloading this one!

EDIT : Did a quick search by registration , discovered that PH-HCG has c/n 0400 and G-JANS 0414 , so not the same aircraft .

Hi

G-JANS is indeed fairly rare - it is a Reims rocket with a 210hp engine.

New mode S transponder fitted a few weeks ago, and a new nav com soon.

They are fabulous pics - well done

Steve

Hi Gunnar-

I'm revisiting my C-172 and came upon this thread. I have your original G-JANS, was this update ever released? It looks simply amazing! I did a search on Avsim but didn't find it... I'd love to have it in my hangar if that's possible. :)

Thanks-

Joe

Thanks Joe.

Don't think I uploaded the livery. But, I'll do very soon (AVSIM).
I will send a PM to you with a download link ASAP. 8)
