Hey voodoo,
Welcome to the forums.
To your question. It depends on what you're looking for. If you want a trainer to learn hands on flying that can also do IFR go with the Cessna 172. If you're looking for a more complex/powerful aircraft with a constant speed propeller, retractable gear and a higher cruising speed go with the Comanche.
But as you post said "which one should I buy FIRST" I'm suspecting your planning on buying them both!? That's a very wise decision! And without knowing your simming or RL experience in aviation I would suggest buy the Cessna first and then the Comanche.
Oh just as a side note. The Cessna won't get old once you have the Comanche. I still fly it regularly. They're all such great addons!
I hope this helps with your decision. Although you made the most important one already which is to move to A2A

I'd go with that Piper said the C172 Trainer is a great first and introduction to the fidelity of Accu-sim.

Re: New to A2A
I'll give it a go ....
As you can see by my avatar to the left, I like jets!
My older brother had that plastic model back in the 60's ... "Freddy Flameout"!
I'm not a real world pilot but if things had been different!
I assume that you chose your Forum name because you also like jets or you're into the Black magic kinda stuff.
They are both very fine aircraft but there is just something about that Comanche.... more of everything: speed, endurance, room for stuff, those wingtip tanks, and the "Boss of here", [A2A] has one in real life.
Mighty fine stuff !
To add further all the Accusim core knowledge beginning all the way back from the ol' B377 Stratocruiser has been complied into her.
Enjoy.

Re: New to A2A
I'd start with the c172 or cherokee 180 first.

Re: New to A2A
Hi all,
It's probably something obvious I'm missing, but I just purchased the C172 trainer, and I can't seem to access any of the pre-flight or garage options. When I load it, I'm just sitting in a much prettier C172 than comes with the default. What am I missing here?
Thanks,
Jeff Brewster
Update: I forgot one of the basic rules of flying, RTFM. Found everything I needed in the manual, of course.

Re: New to A2A
The comanche is the latest.
The order of release was 172,cherokee,182 and then the comanche.
These of course are the GA aircraft.
The J3 cub has Heidi, you can take for a flight and she can be nervous, fun etc and will speak to you.
The aircraft comes with tundra tyres, skis and floats.
Then there is captain of the ship which is a Boeing B377 airliner with working speaking crew and passengers etc.
Then there are the warbirds.
The spitfire,P40 curtiss,P47 thunderbolt and the civvy and military mustangs.
Finally there is the B17 flying fortress with a working speaking crew.
Take your pick!!!
I have them all.
Cheers Chris
