Where is Jan Kees?

Post by budmorgan »

Haven't been looking for him - but I'm surprised I haven't seen any 172 repaints from him!

Cheers!

He's mostly over at Sim Outhouse these days - doing a lot of paints for the upcoming freeware DC-3 by Manfred Jahn et. al. Am not sure of A2A's policy re: linking to other flightsim sites, but if you go over there, you'll find the long DC-3 thread on page 1 of the FSX forum.

Well, at the risk of breaking a rule (apologies in advance if I've broken one), here's his latest.

I'm here!

And it is true, I have been busy with the C-47.
Also, I never bought the C-172. I have never really been interested in this aircraft I fear, and although the paintkit very nearly tempted me to buy it (it looks fantastic), I know I will not fly it enough to justify forking out the necessary cash, so no 172 repaints from me I fear...
Now, if A2A were to consider a C-47, or a Harvard....

OK, just to see if the paintkit is really as easy to work with, two attempts at painting the 172, without buying the model...

These links contain just the textures, you'll have to make copies of existing texture folders, rename them, copy the textures into them and edit the aircraft.cfg yourself. But I assume that will not be much of a problem?
Two very similar paints, ZK-NPJ (https://www.dropbox.com/s/nyz6mez0ag9wotw/JK_ZK-NPJ.zip) and OO-VCW (https://www.dropbox.com/s/3aaje4v6ky4vema/JK_OO-VCW.zip).
Let me know what you think, maybe even post a screen if you like them?
Who knows, I may end up buying it after all...
