The other day I was looking for some old aircraft parts when I ran across this old Flight Simulator buried in junk. It looks to me like an old Cessna Simulator with retractable gear (In one of the pics, note the gear handle near the bottom, to the left of the radio stack). The "N" number on the Copilot's dash shows N220ES as the tail number: however in one of the pics, note the key in the dash says 160ES. So am I dealing with N220ES or N160ES. Neither of these tail numbers is listed in the FAA Registry. Under the NTSB records I did find N220ES, except it shows that this tail number was assigned to a Beechcraft D-50 that did a belly landing (nose gear actuator failure) at Burbank, California on Sept 2, 1965. Look at these five pics and see if you can identify the make and model airplane this sim is for.

We don't know yet. I hope we can get her back up and running or at least see what she needs in parts to make it happen. We also started working on a F-4 Phantom Simulator last week. If we get both of them working again we'll need some donations to build a building to put them in. At our museum the lack of money makes the wheels turn mighty slow! Boy would I like to have the Cessna Sim in my garage; how cool would that be?

Thanks! I'll check him out and see what the museum wants to do. We definitely need to get her flying (simulating) again.

Re: Flight Simulator Found In Museum Trailer
The simulator was built by Emulation Systems Flight Simulators Inc. in Santa Maria, Calif. ssdriver put me in touch with a gentleman named Chip who once built these simulators. Matter of fact, he built his first Flight Simulator out of his garage. Chip has moved on to other jobs and I'm not sure if the company exists any longer. I was told this simulator doubled as a 172/182 RG instrument trainer. Note the gear handle and prop lever (for variable pitch prop). This trainer can be used as a fixed gear / retractable gear and fixed pitch prop / variable pitch prop trainer. I'm really looking forward to restoring this Flight Simulator Trainer.

Re: Flight Simulator Found In Museum Trailer
Hi, We have one of these flight simulators in our engineering training centre in Cairns Australia. Ours has been operational and I'm in the process of getting it flying again. I would dearly love a few close up pics of the circuit boards and wiring setup particularly the left hand horizontal circuit board and ribbon cables. These cables have all been disconnected and I'm trying to figure out where they all go. I have about 80% figured and it boots up and most of the intruments are active but I can't get the panel to come alive.I'd be happy to supply a copy of the software that runs this machine. It runs on a DOS OS. I see this is a fairly old post but hopefully the writer is still active and can help.

Re: Flight Simulator Found In Museum Trailer
RodHep, The museum did not have the funds to get the simulator running so the project has been sitting idle for a while now. We can work this project through the Forum or you can email me at [email protected]. Let me know and I will see what I can do to help.
