also when I write on the plane one side is ok the other is wrong..
Hi Milo,
Again a common problem. What I tend to do especially on lets say a new aircraft, I will download a new texture from a site put the through DXTbmp and send that to my paint program and use that as a template for my own texture at least then you will see how the should go. By the way what paint program do you use?

Hi Milo,
I can your problem. First things first is "milo" a layered texture? in other words has it been done seperate to the rest of the of plane, and if so are you able to adjust it? Here is a shot of my paintshop file if you can adjust the name to the same direction as the tail reg you should be good. The same goes when you do the other door if need be, use the reg as a guide in what way the text needs to be. I'm off to work now so I will catch up with this later.

Hi Gents,

The problem you're having is that DXT format and BMP format are flipped. In Photoshop, this is an easy fix, because the nVidia tool to create DXT format files which most people use will flip the texture automatically. When using anything else, you may well find it useful to flip the texture before working on it, work "non-mirrored" and then flip it back.

Just as an example, here's one of the textures that I was working on, exactly as I was working on it in Photoshop CS4:

It's a lot easier to work on it that way up (the paintkit default) and then flip it before saving than it is to keep trying to rotate and mirror everything.

Cheers,

Ian P.

is there a paint kit for those who dont use photo shop?

I use ms paint ,and DXTBMP, but when I downloaded the paint kit it still has
the writing on it and the brown paint stripes etc, would love just a white
kit if possible..thanks , love flying this thing when I get the chance!

Just hide the layers you don't need and paint on the ones you want to keep or create new ones laying them where needed. For extra help/information please see our repaint forums.

With MSPaint you cannot paint various channels such as the alpha, so its not really compatible with FSX painting.

LOL, I thought that was a new A2A Cessna repaint screenshot! Looks good, needs a registration. I'm not a painter, but I hope somebody picks this up. You may want to post in the "Requested paints" thread or creat a new thread with your request, as this particular thread doesn't get much activity!
