I've searched the forum from top to bottom and found nothing about a few questions I have. So here they are:
1) Is this an addon to Rowan's BoB that requires the original program, a stand alone updated version of Rowan's BoB or an entirely new sim that has only the name in common?
2) What kind of system specs are expected to be able to run this program decently at medium detail? (I'm only looking for an educated guess)
3) How large is the "average" battle going to be?
4) Is the Bf-110 expected to be flyable?
Sorry if these questions have already been answered before.

I can answer the other two no problem...system specs are going to increase according to Scott in the other post...but I personally don't think they will be too bad , any modern system of today's standard should manage no problem. The size of an average battle is something you wont see in IL2 FB etc...it's common to see 300+ bommbers with a nice 70+ fighters escorting them..throw into that a couple of Sqns of spits of hurris and it makes for a fun experience:)

The challenge with ever sim it not just to deliver high quality visuals, but do it with the best performance. I don't want to make any promises since we're still in Alpha testing, but we're spending a lot of time and take pride in being able to deliver state of the art visuals with the least amount of computer horsepower.

Scott, I just thought of a question. Will we be able to fly the German side in BoB? I never had the original so I don't know if it was possible in Rowan's BoB or not.

Where did the forum on shockwave's purchase of B17 II The Mighty Eighth go? (Are the rights still in shockwave's hands?)
I'm unable to find any posts referencing it, and now that bombs-away.net has disappeared from the skies where is one to go?

Fabian,
Not familiar at all about this. Maybe ask here, Piolt's Lounge for this A2A question:

Re: Some general questions
The 2005 post up the page is in error, Shockwave did
not purchase rights, they were contracted by GMX
to generate the updated sims.
Sometime in the late spring of 2005 it was realized that
the deadline demanded by GMX would be impossible for
doing both sims, so B17 was shelved, as courtesy of the
BDG BoB2 was much farther along. I do not know what
happened to the rights; the BoB rights were leased by
GMX, it may be the same arrangement held for B17.
GMX folded around the time that the BoB rights reverted
(to Empire?), and eventually A2A acquired them. I don't
know who the original B17 publisher was, I never followed
that side of the project, being fully wrapped up with BoB2.

Re: Some general questions
Thank you for that.
I was hoping to take a little trip down memory lane but it seems the posts from those days are purged from these forums.
in the mean time, if anyone wishes to revisit the old b17 forum it can be found on here https://web.archive.org/web/20140718045 ... et/forums/
Though not every thread is indexed.
