Not being able to save replay from 3d combat within campaign

Booted up this game after years... grateful for the slew of patches. Besides the fact that the game doesn't work in 3d for me for more than a couple of minutes, I find that I do not get an option to save replay after a 3d combat in campaign whereas I can make replay from instant action.

I wanted to setup a large scale combat of 1000+ planes and watch the replay of the fight. I cannot do this in instant action so campaign is my only option.

Furthermore the replay option only comes if I am playing as a fighter plane and not if I am playing as a gunner.

Are using Windows 8 or Windows 10?
BoBII does not work at all with Windows 8, and players using Windows can play BoBII, but the CTD when pressiing ALT-X to quit the game.

If you use Windows 7, then you should have no problems.
