Hi all
Just gathering from experience with other sims, IL2, CoD and DCS all seem to work fine with Windows 10.
BOB2 on Win 8.0/8.1 is a no go for most people but with every new Windows version, I get new hope!
Has anyone tried BOB2 with Windows 10?

Not yet. Don't know if anyone has.

Early reports seem positive, but no word recently

Re: BOB2 on Windows 10
One question...why updating to Win 10?...I really hate the integrated services that comes with Win 10, also I don´t know if project Spartan will be a great browser and Win 7 will have support till 2020...so I´m not very interested in updating at this very moment.
BTW, I don´t want to start a win. versions discussion, just been curious.

Re: BOB2 on Windows 10
Because some people have Win8/8.1, and BoB2 won't run on it.

Re: BOB2 on Windows 10
Hi,
I had no luck with Bob2 on Windows 8/8.1 so after recently updating to Windows 10 I decided to give it another go.
Pleased to report that the everything seems to run on Windows 10 and I was able to play the campaign and the instant action missions.
The only problem I am having is occasional random crashes with the "Battle of Britain English Text has stopped working" message. Does anyone know if there is a way to stop these?
Thanks,
Dustbag

Re: BOB2 on Windows 10
Two things:
One, other reports have all noted a difficulty in alt-x-ing out
of the 3D. You aren't finding that? Did you have to make any
adjustment to avoid it?
Two: for crashes, you should post in the tech support subforum
(so it's easy for others to find), and quote the contents of the
crashlog.txt written upon the crash. The file is found in the BoB2<root>
folder, and is written by appending, so the latest crash info is at
the bottom. The content required is the last instance of the line
that starts
------------ Begin of section written with bob.exe, Build/Rebuild all [...]
and the next 20 or 30 lines following, basically down to the first five or
ten lines of the Module list.
We used to have BDG coders able to analyse and authoritatively debug the
crashes, but these days it's mostly just me, using my limited knowledge
gleaned from reading their posts. I can tell if the problem is a real BoB2
issue (quite rare), or an issue with BoB2's compatibility with the OS
(a big issue with win8, Win10 not yet determined) or the particular
computer configuration (most common). For many crashes I can sift
through the archive and note the solutions for the crash type posted.

Re: BOB2 on Windows 10
Hi,
At the start I was having crashes when ALT-X ing out of the 3D but I made a couple of changes to the program shortcut:-
1 - Run as administrator
2 - Run in Win7 compatibility mode
I don't know which one of these resolved it but after this I was able to ALT-X out without any more crashes
I will post a copy of the crash log over the weekend as it would be good to get Bob2 working again.
The versions I am currently running are the BDG 2.12 patch and the Multiskin 2.11 I think. Are these the most up to date versions to use or are there newer versions somewhere?
Thanks,
Dustbag

Hi Dustbag1969,
you may try the v2.13 beta upgrade, it´s still not official but it´s the latest available version.
(v2.12 is the official latest version )

Most recent .exe. This is the last test version for 2.13.

Re: BOB2 on Windows 10
I am pleased to say I am also having success with Windows 10.
A few hiccups along the way, but not too bad at all. Basically did a clean install of BoBII, played with the compatibility mode settings, then played with the in-game graphics settings, and it is running beautifully.
Detailed description of what I did and what system I'm running is posted in the Windows 10 success thread here:

Hope this helps!
