Baza.
I will look forward to seeing that programme on the channel "Yesterday"i watch that programme quite a lot,as it refers to a lot of the www2 battles,as you will probably know.

I did see that programme about the new evidence regarding the BOB,but didn't see much new that i hadn't seen before, but i tend to see it all again :)

A friend sent this email to me the other day. I had never heard this story of the Polish pilots defending Britain during the BOB in WW2. We should never forget the contribution of 303 Squadron.
This is a 49 minute film, but very captivating and informative. Save it for a quiet evening and enjoy!

Tried the link but received a message that Channel 4 has blocked the content in this country!

Sorry Baza that you couldn't bring up the link. Captivating story. Very similar to the movie "Dark Blue World" about the Czechs. Great action scenes, many in color, of the BOB.

I live in the US. Never been to England or Europe. Hope to go some day. What is channel 4? I noticed that the flim had captions in what looked to be Polish but the narrative was in English. Would that have had something to do with it being blocked in the UK?

The show is an episode of "Bloody Foreigners", a Channel 4 production.

Not to be confused with BBC 4, Channel 4 is
"a publicly-owned, commercially-funded public service broadcaster. We do not receive any public funding
and have a remit to be innovative, experimental and distinctive. ...We are funded predominantly by advertising
and sponsorship, but unlike other broadcasters such as ITV, Channel 4 is not shareholder owned. Channel 4 is
a statutory corporation, independent of Government, and governed by a unitary board made up of executive
and non-executive directors, who are responsible for ensuring that Channel 4 fulfils its remit and delivers its
financial responsibilities."

I guess that makes it a "Quango" - QUAsi-NonGovernmental Organization. Sort of like capitalism as practised
under a government supervision that hadn't ceded its right to constrain corporations to follow their charter
to act only within a broadly construed public interest, rather than being free to destroy the world as long
as shareholders make money.

Thanks PV for the explaination of Channel 4.
I'm Curious now because Baza wrote "Tried the link but received a message that Channel 4 has blocked the content in this country!" Why would they block their production in the UK.?

hahahahhahaha - that tickled my funny bone and so true PV.

"Dark Blue World" was a great movie IMHO.

BTW this is great link too on the Poles 303 squadron ... watch it!
