Back a few months ago I was testing v2.13.
With MultiSkin ENABLED looking at that.
Also looking at my Escorts.
Still with me, those of you escorts not yet engaged to Interceptors and Patrols?
"Oh! Yes! I am not naked! I have nightmares of running around with no pants or scivvies on, and just my swinging dick for all to see!"
(yeah. maybe stickman has some serious psychological mental Security Issues?)

Image

Long time ago I took these screenshots. Looks my usual and typical HEAVY HANDED & WELL ESCORTED Raid at 9,000 feet:
- Two Gruppen of He111s bombing Langley Hawker factory. (takes 4 or 5 well planned as to approach angle Raids in 3D, to destroy Langley. Longer with only 2d Raids)
- One Gruppe of Me109s as Close Escort (Above).
- Two Gruppen of Me109s as Detached Escort. (Late).

A reverse view.. of same paused screen-shot, showing the 2nd He111 Gruppe (in "spread-wings" or Line formation) behind my He111 Gruppe.

Image

For this Raid only the He111 on my port wing got shot. (smoke trail)
All other bombers untouched. Target HIT!

Because... now the Germans are not crippled with totally IDIOT Geschwader and Gruppe level Staff Officers
that could not properly rendezvous Escorts to Bombers as to intelligently and sensible Take Off times! :roll:

For v2.13, there is coded an 8% chance that an escorting Gruppe will FAIL to properly rendezvous with the Bombers. As I have tested for 2 years.

With the old Rowan code there was a 0% chance that an escorting Gruppe will properly rendezvous with the Bombers.
Unless attacking close Targets near Calais like Hawkinge, Manston or Dover. :roll:

In the last screenshot, you may see an Emil that is damned dangerously close to my bomber. :evil:

That Emil also shows the - 109 prop hub exposed thust bearing texture -
that HAZZIE made, and that I (slightly modified) and have adopted for stock issue, v2.13. :D

HAZZIE, we may be political opposites, but I do love your genius art work. :D

I think you mean 8%...

Stick, don't think we are politically opposite - have the same goals - fairness & development to ALL people, and people control of authority, diminishment of authority corruption and self servingness and vested interests etc - it is how this is done, where I feel we think differently

your screenshots above, are fantastic, btw

PV the difference of 0 to 8, over 100 is not much, esp if flying a bomber mission, 8 is as good as zero, if you discount the concept of infinity ( ie: 0 is infinitely small, whereas 0.0000000001, ( power 1 x(-10) is not )

The historic instant action play of the Aug 18th attack on Kenley.
The plan was to have 9 D017's bomb at 0' for the knock out punch after
the field's defenses were first softened up by 12 Junkers and 27 Do17s at high level.

HAZZIE,

HellCat speaks about this Instant Action > Historic mission.

Now.. only infantrymen attack at 0 feet level! Cavalrymen can attack at 3-4 feet over the ground. Depending on horse size.
Do-17s did specialize in low level attacks. 1,000 feet is cutting it close, Nap Of The Earth, even in fairly flat south England.

In Campaign, the lowest level allowed for a LW Raid over a Target is limited to 2,000 feet.
Which just happens to be the level just under a cumulus cloud layer, where bombers can see the the Target,
without the Target being visibly obscured by clouds.

In Instant Action it is possible to make a Raid as low as 1,000 feet.
There was long ago.. made a BoB Tool to EDIT Instant Action missions,
which can enable LW bombers to attack at 1,000 feet.
This Kenley Mission was such an IA Mission made by some old BDG guy long ago, using this Tool.

With this IA Mission editing Tool you can force LW Bombers down below 2,000 feet to 1,000 feet.

Mission Editor, for Editing existing Instant Action Missions.

Feel free to play with this Tool.
I have not played with it for many years. Only know that it did work.
You know me. I only care about the Commander Campaigns.

----

The low level Do17's approach Kenley at 268 meters (my altitude indicator) which is 879 feet. My Staffel Leader appears to be 20 feet lower than I am, right behind him:

Image

On Target egress.
One or two hangars maybe hit,
and due to the very usual "bomb drop overshoot" that I have seen consistently with years of testing.. the runway got cratered pretty good.

Image

In and out quick, no losses from them nasty 6 Bofors that were firing.
On this egress, I looked around, turning on Labels, and saw a Squadron of Spits and a Squadron of Hurris hot on my low-life ass! :twisted:

Man, that is nice. Lowlevel stuff is so much more dynamic and active, full of passing landscape detail, close range AA

adds the dimension of 'hectic', which is what the ppl want........

what trees you using ?

HAZZIE,
what trees you using ?
For forests, mostly the #62 trees, with a fewer #1192 trees.
For tree line hedges, mostly the #62 trees, with a fewer #63 trees.

My usual AuotGen Tree stuff:

# AutoGen stuff (experimental):
ENABLE_AUTO_GEN=ON
TEMP_AG_SN[15,1]=1192
TEMP_AG_SN[15,2]=62

# AutoGen TreeLine stuff (experimental):
TEMP_AGTL_SN[0]=1192
TEMP_AGTL_SN[2]=63
TEMP_AGTL_SN[3]=62
