Will give them a try rogeroger. I made the bf110 colours a little more vivid in this mod, maybe more realistic looking http://www.mediafire.com/file/os8tffry1 ... r.zip/file. The included fx files are optional but boost reflections over stock, provided that reflections are selected in the game graphics settings and a mission is selected where the game will display them as I mentioned before. These are the editing templates I made http://www.mediafire.com/file/bmadylcaf ... s.zip/file.

Howzit Boreas :), just dowloaded your 110 file, will give it ago later.
I'm currently using default skins for most aircraft except the 109's with their great multiskin variations. Your spit and hurri skins are a bit dark when used in default mode. Brightening the skins a bit seems to improve the default skin's lighting effects.....at least according to my bad taste. :)
I've provided a lighter variation of Boreas's hurri and spit default skins.  :)

Place these in the cockm16 folder after saving the originals.
edit: To use default skins just remove the fx file for the particular skin from the cockm16 folder. Replace it to use multiskin textures again.

They look very good to me rogeroger :) . I found the camo tricky although I spent relatively very little time on it compared to the templates. In particular, I most likely made the brown too dark. [edit] Although I probably had in mind the colours used for recent spitfire mk1 restorations (N3200 & P9374) which are darker. Not to say it might not look just right sometimes. I think lighting is a big variable. Maybe, somewhere in the middle, wherever that is, might be best for both texture brightness and lighting fx intensity. I probably don’t have the best eye for it though. I don't think I made any drastic changes to the bf110’s but changed quite a few details like wheels and spinners. Am sizing up the 109 skins for more efficient template making due to the large number of them.

Engine sounds?

Post by PieceOfCake »

Are there any better engine sounds than what comes with stock 2.13 version?
If so, where can I get them? Old download links are gone and I have trouble finding them

I have them I think. Downloaded a lot of his stuff before.
It's in a folder called "sundry nhh sounds".
Sounds very similiar to the 2.13 stock sounds only they have more "beef" and stereo to them.

But if you could send regardless would be nice. Maybe you have something else that sounds better?

"rafsounds" is the folder I have,,,which I see contains some of the same files you got from B on the 18th.
Sounds are identical.

I've always felt that the bullet impact flashes were unrealistically large, and an immersion killer. I experimented with the flash textures, reducing the flash sizes for a more subtle effect. The 'flash.dds' texture was more of a bright puff than a flash, so I replaced it with the 'flash_1.dds' texture.

A few lighter low water detail textures for those that use that setting.

Place the files of your choice in the landmap2 folder.

Thanks rogeroger,,,expect I'll use all three.

Thanks Hellcat. :)
I prefer the look of the low detail water myself, but I'm not a fan of the fog effect that goes with it.
I can put these together quite quickly, so if there is a particular water shade you want, I can oblige.

To my eyes, the difference in your water choices are pretty subtle.
I like them all but there is a noticeable difference in how they blend with H's shore: #4 blends the best but for
some subjective reason #2 gets my nod.
No problem with the fog/haze either :) ,,, I've always had horizon setting on low to get that very effect.
It must be the pluviophile in me.

Here's a screenie of #2 which doesn't do it justice,,,for some reason landmass/water screenshots have always appeared washed out
in this sim???

The smaller flash is great for staying on bomber target allowing me to really pepper the hc out of them.

Thanks again.
