Very nice guys!

Here"s a shot of the one thing in this sim that still startles me a bit after all these years.
The infrequent, if not rare, total blow of a fighter or bomber I've been pelting with the puny .303 round.

While I'm mucking with things il21946 , here is a screenie of martins terrain in my il2 1946 bob setup.

Image

I use the nvidea desktop colour settings in the control panel to add vibrance and contrast to il21946 because reshade does not work well with the opengl high detail water settings. With reshade, water detail has to be set to '1', which looks really crappy.

Once Again....BoB! What the???

So,,,I'm in a shot up Spit that I can no longer fight with but is still flyable.
As such, usually try to land said aircraft at the nearest airfield.

Ok,,,landing successful,,,(majority of the time not so lucky) however,,, seconds after landing, it burst into flames,
engine froze, and I (the pilot) scrambled up over the front of the canopy, up the nose, and then dove headfirst over the prop,,,never to be seen again.

The Spit came to a full stop and the flames went out.

#1's
First-time battle damaged plane I've landed successfully burst into flames
First time I've had my alter ego manifest itself in a sim.
First time I've seen AC flames end so quickly

Strange occurrences (not unknown in this sim) or easily explained phenomena?

 Hmm, certainly weird, hellcat. The only explanations I can think of are that (a) you accidentally hit the bale-out button and in that specific context it triggers some rarely seen animation, or (b) you ran over a member of the groundcrew and he "manifested" himself in your cockpit.

I can confirm another sighting of Unidentified Flying Aircrew.

As mentioned in this mission report...

https://combatace.com/forums/topic/9285 ... berichter/

...just as we were shot down, I was in the dorsal gun position of our Heinkel, when I suddenly saw a figure in a dark flight suit which could have been me, jumping over the side of the fuselage next to my station and disappearing out of my field of view. As the aircraft fell away, I tried to bail out but nothing happened, perhaps because I already had :)

I've wondered for some time whether it was possible to create skins for bob2 from il2clod screenshots. Over the festive season I decided to give it a try. I took a sXXXload of screenshots and after much copying, pasting, scaling, shearing and cloning with Gimp this is the result.

MULTISKIN

As you can see they are pretty photorealistic.

The only problem is whether it is legal or ethical to spread these about seing as they were created from il2clod screenies. Some advice is needed before I'll consider uploading these skins.

Very realistic textures Rogeroger. As an old modder for many games like GTA I can tell you there is not an official policy about modding a game using materials from other games. In general it's just a question of respecting some basic rules like:

1 - You must always use credits for the materials you are using.

2 - You can never sell the produts only share for free.

The only way it would not be legal is if the game company doesn't allow it through an official message (what is very rare).

All the greatest modding sites like GTA Inside, Nexus, Moddb allow this kind of conversion using credits.

Thanks for the feedback Felizpe. I'll probably upload it soon. I just need to clean up some of the glare on the wings.
